About us

How we work

We are a marketing company. This page says exactly what that means, what we are paid, and what we will never do.

What we are

Affordable Healthcare Center is a marketing company based in Georgia. We publish plain-language information about health insurance and we introduce people to one licensed insurance agency in their area. We are not an insurance agency or company, we hold no insurance license, and nobody here will ever recommend a plan, quote a premium, compare plans for you, or enroll you. Only a licensed agent can do those things, and that is the point of the introduction.

How we are paid

Licensed agencies pay us a flat fee to be the one agency we introduce in their territory. The fee is the same whether you enroll or not, whichever plan or insurer you choose. We never receive a commission, a share of a commission, or any payment tied to a sale. That is deliberate: it means there is nothing for us to steer you toward.

How we choose agencies

Before an agency can be named on our form, we check:

  • An active Georgia agency license and National Producer Number, verified against the state's public records.
  • Certification with Georgia Access (and, for other states, an active federal Marketplace agreement).
  • A real, staffed office at a street address, not a mailbox.
  • Errors-and-omissions insurance.
  • Agreement to our terms: contact you only as your consent describes, within the hours the law allows, keep records of your consent and eligibility review as federal rules require, never resell your information, and honor "stop" immediately.

One complaint of deceptive marketing or unwanted contact that we can substantiate ends the relationship.

What we never do

  • Recommend, rank, or display the benefits of a specific plan or insurer.
  • Send your request to more than one agency, or sell it to anyone, ever.
  • Ask health questions. Our form asks where you live, who is in your household, an income range and your current coverage. Nothing medical.
  • Pretend to be the government, the Marketplace, Georgia Access or Medicare, or use their seals or look.
  • Promise "$0 plans," "free money," cash cards or fake deadlines.
  • Contact you ourselves about insurance. Our only messages are a confirmation of who received your request and, later, a question about how it went.

What the estimates on this site are

Where we show a figure, it comes from public tables: the federal poverty guidelines published by HHS and the premium-tax-credit percentages published by the IRS. They describe households like yours in general; they are not a quote for any plan and not a determination of your eligibility. Georgia Access makes that determination when you apply.

Your choices

You never have to use us. GeorgiaAccess.gov lists every plan and every certified agent in the state. If you do submit a request, you can withdraw it at any time by replying STOP to a text, telling the agent, or emailing us; see the privacy policy and Do Not Sell or Share page.

For agencies

If you are a licensed agency with a staffed Georgia office and would like to be the one agency in your territory, see the contact page.
